That's all folks.
Technical notes (or maybe apologies): To create this online slide show, I scanned 102 35mm slides on my Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II. I set the scanner on auto exposure, and auto edge finder. Neither one is perfect. I didn't do any touch-ups at all. I used the scanner's high compression setting, and then used Microsoft PhotoDraw v2's batch save to compress them even more. I also used PhotoDraw to rotate and resize the vertical format images. Many of the scans have artifacts in them - mostly scanning errors and a few strange affects from the compression and recompression. I apologize for that. All the images, including the road trip photos (except the Little Colorado River shots) were made on Fuji Velvia with a Nikon N80 with a Nikon 24 - 120mm zoom. I used a B+W KR3 filter or polarizer on most of them. I used an extension tube for a few. The camera is usually on a Gitzo 1228 tripod with a Bogen 3413 QR ball head. The Little Colorado River shots were made on a Nikonos V with a 35mm lens on Kodak E100SW. |
